Maitreyee PahariMaitreyee Pahari is a graduate of Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and Kathak Kendra, Delhi. She has specially studied and trained in the three different Chhau dance forms - Mayurbhanj, Purulia and Seraikella.
On a Charles Wallace Fellowship in 2003, she visited England and Scotland for dance workshops, choreographic collaborations and performances. In 2004, she went to Germany for a work shop cum performance tour. In 2005, she conducted a month-long workshop in London, to acquaint students with the nuances of Indian Folk Culture, with special emphasis on music & dance.
Most of her choreographic compositions have been based on extensive research of different forms and styles of dance and music. She has also experimented with the juxtaposition of the classical and the folk, especially with the Chhau dance forms.
She has helped co-ordinate and choreograph numerous dance festivals for the ICCR, Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Department of Culture, like – “Octave ’06 & ‘07”, Lok Tarang ’07, India@60 in New York, London Regent Street Festival etc. She has also choreographed several productions for private institutions and organizations. Madhu SenMadhu Sen manages and organises cultural events. She helps some of the leading cultural institutions & organizations to organize their festivals. She was the media coordinator for the Norwegian Embassy for the Royal visit of the crown Prince & Princess of Norway. She helped organize the Polish Festival in India, by Ministry of Culture. Coordinated “Octave 2006”, “Octave 2007” and has managed events for the Ministry of Culture, Oil & Development Industry Board, Delhi International Arts Festival, 2nd National Short & Documentary Film Festival on Art & Artists, Bhubaneswar, Orissa etc.
Sandip Nag Sandip Nag has been a leading dancer and ballet master with Lok Chhanda Cultural Unit, a professional dance company, for the last fifteen years. He has performed extensively in some of the major dance festivals in India and has toured the U.S., Europe, Middle East and the Far East with the dance company. As a senior in the company, he has been assisting the chief choreographer – Ms. Maitreyee Pahari most of her projects, , like – “Octave ’06 & ‘07”, Lok Tarang ’07, India@60 in New York, London Regent Street Festival etc.
Arun Das Arun Das is also a senior dancer with Lok Chhanda Cultural Unit for the last fifteen years. He has performed extensively with the company in some of the major dance festivals in India and has toured the U.S., Europe, Middle East and the Far East. As a senior in the company, he has been assisting the chief choreographer – Ms. Maitreyee Pahari in most of her projects, like – “Octave ’06 & ‘07”, Lok Tarang ’07, India@60 in New York, London Regent Street Festival etc.
Gautam Bhattacharya Gautam Bhattacharya is one of the senior disciples of Late Tapas Sen, the doyen of stage lighting in India. He has been a professional in this field for almost thirty years, designing lights for some of the leading theatre directors, dancers, choreographers and major cultural institutions all over India and abroad.
He has been the technical director for some of the major cultural events and festivals organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sangeet Natak Akademi, I.C.C.R., I.T.D.C. etc.
He was awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Puraskar in 2007.
